It’s time to untwist the knife You’ve probably experienced these marketing tactics first hand
- Playing on insecurities
- Continually hitting on pain points
- Major Scarcity
- Next level FOMO
- Fear-tactics (you can’t do this without me/help)
It stops here
I practice and teach (check out my mentorship programs!):
Relatability
Empathy
Honesty
Inclusivity
YES, you do need to deeply understand where your ideal client is in their stage of life/business, but you should use that knowledge to EMPOWER them, not to PREY on them.
This looks like:
Serving your audience (not just your clients) with value-based, helpful content
Sharing the real + raw, not just polished and perfected moments
Selling with integrity (don’t push your stuff on someone who’s not a good fit)
There’s nothing wrong with saying, “Hey, if you’re looking for help with your marketing, I’ve only got 2 spots left this year.” But it becomes a problem if your messaging (aka the words you use) put that person down or make it seem impossible to achieve their goals without your help.
>>> So next time you think about marketing, I challenge you to market with Heart, Soul, and Story.
It can be simple, easy, and mayyyyyybeeee even a little bit fun when you view marketing as storytelling vs. sleazy, gimmicky tactics.
