Respond > React

There are some days where I want to quit motherhood. 🙅‍♀️

Try as I might to get up at 6:20am, spend some quiet time in the Word, take a few sips of coffee while it’s hot, and then get my kids out of the house on time, it RARELY happens as planned. 😵

Someone wakes up early. Someone else doesn’t want to get dressed (okay, its my 3 year old… she never wants to get dressed). And try as I might to get out of the house by 8:10, there are days when it takes me 30 minutes to get everyone in the car.

I’d be lying if I told you there weren’t days I cried into my coffee and thought, “I quit.” 😭

It’s on those days I have to be super intentional about changing my thoughts.

My friend shared this mantra with me the other day and I found it SO powerful 👇

I will respond instead of react.💥

POW! Doesn’t that hit you right in the heart?

How many things in life could we apply that to?? ✔ Certainly in business, marriage, friendships, finances, politics…. the list goes on and on.

When we respond vs react, it makes others feel heard and valued. I feel like our world needs more of that, don’t you? ❤

If you resonated with this post, I think you should give this one a read, too.
