Want to elevate your brand to stand out?
What comes to mind when you hear the word “elevated?” For me, I think of premium, high-quality goods and experiences. They aren’t average, cheap, or thrown together, rather I expect a curated, thoughtful, excellent experience with a product or service and the brand behind it.
Starbucks is a great example of an elevated brand. From the presentation of their food and drinks, to the signage, physical spaces, and their excellent customer service – you walk into a Starbucks and know that you can expect two things: Good coffee and higher price-points. There’s a reason people spend 5-8 dollars on a drink they could get elsewhere or make at home for much less. They want the experience of going to Starbucks and leaving with a paper cup that has the green logo on the side of it!
Sure, you could go to McDonalds and spend 99 cents on a cup of joe, but you don’t get that elevated experience… McDonalds smells like fried food instead of rich coffee beans. The seats are metal and plastic rather than soft leather armchairs. The entire environment is different and it all boils down to the details. And the details are what sets each brand apart.
As an online business owner, you can create an elevated brand experience by doing the following:
Ensure Brand Consistency
If you want to be known as a premium, elevated brand, it’s important that you create consistency in your brand messaging and visuals. From your website to your social media, your blog to your video content, your audience should be able to spot your content and know it’s yours just by the consistent tone, imagery, and quality.
Refine Your Client Experience.
The experience you create for your audience and clients is everything! I’m not just talking sending fancy-looking client gifts, although that is a wonderful touch, you can make your clients feel seen, heard, and valued throughout the entire customer journey. From how you speak with prospects to how you onboard, to how you always deliver on time, with quality and excellent service. Something as simple as inviting feedback throughout your process can go a long way to ensure your clients are happy and taken care of.
Pay Attention to the Small Details
Sometimes we’re so eager to sell our services that we forget to finesse the foundational aspects our business such as our contracts, systems and tools. If the back-end of your business is all over the place it will impact how you show up, your marketing materials, your client acquisition process, and even the customer experience. Things can easily fall through the cracks which leads to stress and a negative impact on your audience and clients.
Start investing time into getting organized by using a project management tool such as Asana or ClickUp to stay on track. Map out your client experience, analyze the copy and images on your marketing platforms, read through your contracts again if you haven’t in a while — these things will help you identify areas you can tweak and improve.
Lastly, if your brand messaging and visuals feel stale or inconsistent, you might be ready for a brand refresh or rebrand!
