What I Learned After Spending A Year Restructuring My Company | SHIFT Series Part 1

A year ago my husband and I jetted off to New York City for a fancy business trip where I got to meet up with other entrepreneurs, relax at a bougie spa, and then spend a few days exploring the city.

As the wheels lifted off the ground and we sipped on our Starbucks, I couldn’t help but wonder if this was the beginning of a new, exciting chapter.

What I didn’t know then is that following that trip, I’d spend a year restructuring my entire company.

From our team dynamics and responsibilities to our client experience, the services we offered, programs we ran, and even how I showed up on social media, I looked at everything with fresh perspective and challenged the ways we did things.

For example, in the last year:

→ We shifted our marketing content from pre-planned, education-heavy and polished content to real-time vulnerable stories, insights, and conversations.

✷✷✷ This is the first piece of content that I’m tying out in advance in nearly 4 months. 😮

→ We grew our agency to a team of 4 and separated our brands so that we could better serve each customer.

✷ LMC Agency is our brand experience agency helping companies foster deep connections through video, branding, web design, and multimedia marketing.

✷ LMC Coaching is for female entrepreneurs who want to be equipped and empowered to grow their business through coaching, courses, + classes.

→ I ran the last cohort of my group marketing program because it wasn’t feeling aligned anymore.

→ Instead, we launched Growth Week because it supports business owners who need more than education but want hands-on, done with you help in pivoting in their business from their structure and offerings to their target audience, positioning strategy, and marketing plan

Am I just telling you this to look cool?

No. I’m sharing these things because I want you to see that IT IS OKAY TO RETHINK THE WAY YOU TO DO THINGS!

Trust me, I was terrified that if I stopped posting on social media all the time or if I didn’t send out an email, if I stopped writing blog posts and posting them on Pinterest that everything would fall apart.

That my leads would dry up.

That I would become irrelevant.

That everything I worked for would be for n.o.t.h.i.n.g. and I’d be searching for job on Linked In.

Friend, I’m so glad I didn’t give into that fear!

It’s been a long year of personal and business hurdles and I’ve by no means “arrived” but I am SO dang glad that I challenged my own expectations and ways of doing things.

I’ve let more joy and peace into my life.

I’m working with my dream clients and companies.

And my clients are saying things to me like, “I really feel like I found a gem, Liz. You go above and beyond!” (Kathy if you’re reading this, thanks again for the kind words. They mean more than you know.)

If you’ve made it this far in my note, THANK YOU.

If you’re feeling prompted to pivot but don’t know how to do so or you feel scattered + overwhelmed with how you’re running your business right now, know that you’re not alone.
