Humility, perseverance, and resilience are three character traits required to be a parent and a business owner.
I cannot believe it’s been two years since I hit launch on my video course, shifted my business online, and decided to go all in on my dream of scaling my business from a whisper to something that has impacted hundreds of women around the globe.
Here's what I've learned about building a thriving business during times of uncertainty.
#1 There's No Such Thing As Ready
Take it from the girl who balanced a full-time video marketing exec job while starting an online business at 37 weeks pregnant. There’s no such thing as fully ready. If you wait until you have more time, more money, more confidence, more (fill in your own blank), you’ll watch as days turns to months and months turn to years.
→ My advice is to cling to your vision, bet on yourself, take steps forward and never look back with regret.
#2 Growth Happens When You're Uncomfortable
Gosh if I had any idea of the emotional rollercoaster that 2020 and 2021 would bring, I would’ve quit before I got started. My word of the year for 2022 is Room. More room for growth, more room for time with family, my faith, and more room for sitting in the uncomfortable.
It’s easy to rush to the next thing or try to problem-solve when we feel uncomfortable.
→ My advice is to embrace it, question it, and get to the core of why you’re in this season. It’s a bold guess, but I betcha it’s because you’re on the brink of a HUGE breakthrough and growth like you’ve never experience.
This is exactly what happens for my clients during Growth Week!
#3 Joy Cannot Be Based On Your Current Circumstances
Speaking of that rollercoaster, as a creative entrepreneur, each day can feel different. One day you may feel on top of the world, on-fire with purpose, passion, and everything falls into place. Then legit, the next day you feel like you should burn it all down. #beenthere
→ My advice to you is to go back to your core desires. As yourself how you want to feel in your business, in relationships, in your health, and in your soul.
Time for Reflection
The question is, are your efforts aligning with those things? If so, great! If not, it’s time to re-evaluate. But remember to find joy beyond what you’re going through today.
